UCI-OC Poll Results

UC Irvine’s School of Social Ecology recently commissioned a countywide poll - the UCI-OC Poll – to delve broadly and deeply into social problems facing Orange County and produce good data to assist leaders in reaching evidence-based decisions. The first edition, which was fielded in the late spring of 2023, addressed homelessness and affordable housing.

Empowering Communities to Solve Homelessness

Join us on Thursday, August 24 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a discussion on a new public opinion poll of Orange County residents and how the results will impact the work to end homelessness in our community.

We are excited to present our guest speakers for this event:

  • Dr. Jon Gould, Dean of the School of Social Ecology, University of California, Irvine
  • Tommy Newman, Vice President, Engagement and Activation with United Way of Greater Los Angeles

We will discuss:

How do we listen to the needs of the community, so that we can effectively respond to complex issues like homelessness and lack of affordable housing? What insights are we learning about the priorities of people in Orange County? How can we use this knowledge to empower actionable steps?

In advance of the event, you’ll be able to submit questions you want our guest speakers to address. Please submit your questions when you register.
