Amazing News: 500+ People Housed, New County Contract & More (August 2021)
Amazing news! United to End Homelessness has been awarded a contract with the County of Orange to help identify rental housing for 475 of the 557 new federal Emergency Housing Vouchers allocated specifically to the Orange County Housing Authority.
This represents 85% of their voucher allocation and more importantly, this is a testament to the success we can achieve when we work together.
We have ended homelessness for more than 500 individuals through WelcomeHomeOC over the past two-and-a-half years. And now, we’ve been entrusted to help house 475 additional households over the next 11 months.
In order to make this happen, we must increase the number of housing units in our pipeline immediately. If you know someone who owns rental properties in Orange County, please contact Amanda Grill via email or call (949) 263-6114.
Thank you for your support.

Expectant Mother Finally Has a Place to Call Her Own Thanks to WelcomeHomeOC
Diana was 15 when she entered the foster care system but once she turned 18, she was officially on her own, scrambling to find a safe place to live and staying with friends who could lend her their couch. Her housing instability and continuous risk of homelessness put a lot of stress on her at a very young age.
However, she continued to work hard, and was determined to find a place to call her own. Earlier this year, Diana received a Foster Youth to Independence voucher, and was connected with WelcomeHomeOC.
In less than 60 days, the program found her an apartment, provided furniture, and equipped her with the necessary steps for a seamless move. Diana is expecting her first child soon and is grateful for the safety and security of her new home.
